Benefits of ISO 9001:2015 Certification


There are many benefits to becoming ISO 9001:2015 Certified. Those benefits, in a well-established quality management system, extend throughout the organization to all levels. Key interested parties such as the employee, supervisors/managers, top management, owners, and even partners and investors can realize significant benefits.


From the level of the employee there are direct benefits of improved process efficiency and control. When an organization has implemented a quality management system (QMS) thoughtfully they can leverage the standards requirements to elicit significant change. Processes that were not monitored or measured before can be analyzed and monitoring process can be developed. When management takes a closer look at core processes, it can obtain baseline data that can be utilized to determine how a process is performing and then plan for improvements.


Management (supervisors/managers) will be held more accountable in a well-established QMS. Overtime training plan improvements will lead to more effect training and cross-training making the organization stronger. Process improvements will reduce cost and increase customers retention.


Owners, partners, and investors (shareholder) can expect to see increased profitability as the organization begins to be handle systemic quality issues with robust root cause analysis and appropriate corrective action. A well developed and mature QMS can have significant positive benefits for any organization.

In my experience however, I have seen only positive improvements from organizations that choose to adopt a quality management system and undergo certification.
